The path

From content to getting paid

Five steps to launch. Follow them in order: each one is already built into Fonaria, no external tools needed.

  1. Create the private podcast

Open a new podcast: each listener will get a personal address, revocable at any time.

  2. Upload your episodes

Add your audio, titles and notes. Publish right away or work in draft and schedule the release.

  3. Set the pace and the preview

Decide how many days apart episodes come out for each listener and, if needed, when they expire. For a free taste, turn on the preview.

  4. Connect Stripe

Connect your Stripe account with Stripe Connect: the money lands in your own account and the customers stay yours. The commission depends on the plan: 10%, 7% or 5%.

  5. Sell or invite

Open your sales page or invite listeners directly. Each one gets their personal link to open in their podcast app.

The step we do not do for you

Where the first subscriber comes from

We do not bring you an audience. The first subscriber usually comes from a place you already have.

  1. The list you already have

Newsletter, email contacts, the group where you answer questions. It does not need to be big: those people need to already know who you are, which is the part usually missing when someone buys from a stranger.

  2. People who already bought something from you

They are the closest audience to the next purchase, and usually the one you write to least. If you sold a course last year, those people already decided once that you were worth their money.

  3. The place where you already publish

A public podcast, a channel, a profile where somebody reads you. There you are not asking for attention cold: you already have it, and you can say there is something more to listen to.

And what to send them

Not the course. One episode, just one, the one that solves the thing they ask you about most. You leave it free inside the same podcast that will later hold the rest, so whoever decides to buy adds nothing: the locked episodes unlock in the app they already opened. That is the part of the product built for exactly this.

If none of these three places comes to mind, start from the audience before the tool.

Practical questions

Before you start

How do my customers subscribe?
From your podcast’s public page (they buy or subscribe) or through an invitation you send. Either way they get a personal link to open in their podcast app.
Which podcast apps does it work with?
Any app that reads an RSS feed: Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict and the like. The listener opens their personal link and picks the app: from then on the podcast sits among their shows.
Can I import an existing podcast?
Yes. If you already have a podcast elsewhere, Fonaria imports the episodes from an RSS feed in a few clicks and keeps new ones in sync. Migration doesn’t mean re-uploading everything by hand.
How do I revoke a listener’s access?
Every listener has their own link and you can revoke it whenever you want, without affecting the others. On a refund or cancellation the revocation is automatic.
How does invoicing work when I sell?
You issue it, because you are the seller. What we do is collect from the customer, inside the checkout, the details you need (tax code or VAT number, recipient code or PEC, address), validate them and hand them to you next to the amount paid. VAT is yours to apply when you issue the document. Check your regime setup with your accountant before opening sales.
What do I pay Fonaria on sales?
A fixed subscription (19, 39 or 59 € a month + VAT) plus a commission on sales of 10%, 7% or 5% depending on the plan you choose. The money lands straight in your own Stripe account, and the commission applies only to what you sell through Fonaria.
What if I leave? What happens to my data?
You export content and subscribers. Payments always went through your own Stripe account and, when you cancel, your listeners’ feeds stay active for ninety days.
